Affirming ADHD Assessments for Adults
I firmly believe that we were all created good, and that by taking the time to know ourselves, we can learn how to thrive as individuals and in our relationships. Through this lens, I offer affirming ADHD assessments for adults that seek to help individuals better understand their unique brain, with its strengths and challenges alike.
Could I really have ADHD?
You’ve probably already looked into it. You’ve stayed up late, taken online quizzes, read up on symptoms (and how they differ in women), and maybe saw a few videos that felt a bit too relatable to you.
Or maybe you have a child who was recently diagnosed, and as you sat in those appointments, some of the questions caught you off guard in their relatability.
You’ve started to recognize patterns in yourself, thought back to childhood - all those late nights pushing yourself through homework assignments, struggling to stay organized or on task, or maybe finding it difficult to stay out of the imaginary worlds you created inside your head long enough to pay attention in class. Maybe this could explain that. Maybe this could explain my feelings of constant overwhelm.
Whatever led you here, now you’re ready for clarity. That’s what this process is for.
How does this work?
Adult ADHD assessments are different from full neuropsychological testing. These are clinical assessments designed to give you clarity and insight into your own brain, along with treatment recommendations, should you wish to pursue treatment with me or with another provider.
The first step
Is to schedule a consultation call with me. We will go over your reasons for wanting to explore an ADHD diagnosis, and then I will send you an intake packet online along with some screeners and questionnaires.
Next,
We will schedule your two intake/evaluation appointments. These can either be completed together, in one 2-2.5 hour block, or in two separate sessions, depending on both of our availability and your preference. During these appointments, we will explore the results of your screeners, walk through a structured interview, and you will have the space to ask any questions or share any additional information you think might be helpful. We may complete other assessments during this time as well.
After your evaluation sessions,
I will take some time to carefully put together and interpret all of our gathered information into a report for you. We will meet one final time to review the results together, around 2-3 weeks after your last evaluation session. Your report will be ready for you to take with you at this time.
